Steamboat Backcountry Adventures was founded by Brian Erhart and Craig Weese, Two extremely passionate skier/snowboarders, who want to share this love with you!
Brian Erhart is originally from the Great Lakes state and grew up competitively ski racing at his local mountain in Petoskey, Michigan. After moving to the mountains at age 16 he knew that he had found his passion for exploring the unknown of the backcountry. He has experience as a certified ski instructor and raft guide in Steamboat. Brian attended Colorado Mountain College with degrees in Ski and Snowboard business, and Management and Leadership. He is motivated to share his passion of exploring the outdoors and is constantly working to develop his skills in the backcountry.
Craig Weese is originally from Montana where he learned to snowboard in the Bitterroot Mountains. While on the quest for endless powder (like the rest of us) he found that the best way to achieve this was through exploring the backcountry. While trying to get to the next powder stash he discovered that he would be better traveled with a splitboard. At the age of 13 he received his first splitboard and never turned back. Ever sense then he has been expanding his thirst for adventure by furthering his education in avalanche safety and backcountry awareness. Craig moved to Steamboat Springs, Colorado at the age of 18 where he found his new love in the backcountry. Craig enjoys riding through the aspen groves engulfed within Steamboats Champagne powder. He wants to be able to share his undying love and passion for the backcountry with everyone and can't wait to share it with you!
